It's been awhile, huh? It's definitely NOT because I haven't had anything to say... quite the opposite! Things are always happening that make me think, "I should totally be blogging about this!" but time gets away from me, and I'm on to the next big news... which I then neglect to blog about as well! ;)
But stay tuned.... God is at work...
This time last year He put our feet on a path that would take us halfway around the world, to places we never thought we'd go. And He was with us every step of the way, 'til we were safely back home again with three little miracles in our arms!
But that wasn't the end of the story...
While we were there, God showed us these knees...
...and the beautiful little dolly who owns them.
We vowed to do our best to return for her if she was available....and after three months, amazingly she is!
And we are!
I'm so happy to share that we've committed to be Lesia's new family!! Lord willing, Peyton's sweet little friend is about to become his sister! :) My heart fills with joy to think that the next time I see her with her little arms held high, I'll be able to reach down and pick her up and tell her "Momma's here!" Just like I did with Peyton, Jessa, and Amelia. By then she'll have waited three long years for a family of her own.
So, please join us as God sets our feet on the path back to Lesia... I don't know what's in store for us. There are so many uncertainties right now, with a vote pending in her country to halt international adoptions... One would think it prudent to wait a few weeks to see what happens. But prudence has never been our thing, we're doing what we did before and taking a running jump into God's arms! Don't think we're not scared half to death, but we know whatever happens, He is in control and He loves this little girl even more than we do.
After all, He's the one who created those knees.

I have been a silent follower of your blog since you were in the process of bringing those precious angels home. Now I am drawn to your blog again to watch you provide a family for a little one whom I have fallen in love with. Her picture has shown up in front of my face more times than I can count lately. Unfortunately we aren't anywhere near being able to adopt as our little girl with Ds who is almost the exact same age as Leesia is currently battling leukemia. So, of course, I am so thankful that your family will be going back for her. Thank you!! I look forward to following your journey. And believe me, I have been praying hard that the bill over there does not pass!! It would be truly devastating!!
ReplyDeleteI never doubted for a moment that you would go get her! Good for you!

Oh HOW I LOVE this little girl!!!! The nannies gave up on me that last 4 weeks. Everyday I would go to get Charlie & she would reach for me & I would pick her up & hug her kiss her little cheeks, and whisper that "She was next, and soon her Mama & Papa would come for her" I am exstatic that it is your sweet family!!! She will be a perfect addition...Congrats from the Harper Family. One day we will have to have a Berizka Reunion
